At Tripp Bees and Honey, we take the utmost care in selecting only gentle, resilient honey bees, that can over-winter, have great temperament, and most of all, produce the best honey ever.

It takes a local bee, that can live and thrive in the climate of the Appalachian Mountains.  Many “Packaged Bee” sellers simply purchase their packaged bees from quickly split colonies that are raised in warmer climates such as Georgia, Florida, or even California.  Worse off is that these bees travel hundreds/thousands of miles, have a queen that is not even a part of the colony, and then tossed into an environment unlike anything they have ever thrived in.

At Tripp Bees, we selectively breed Carniolan Bee colonies, ensure mated queens that are raised within each colony, and have over-wintered in the region.  We also ensure that they thrive and are strong enough to endure varroa and beetles.  You’ll find that our bees are easy to work with, less prone to swarming/absconding, and produce great honey!
